Tutorial #07

- Crop your image. Double the layer once, set to screen 100% and sharpen your base with Filter => Sharpen => Sharpen.
- Merge the two layers, copy the merged layer and put it on top.
- Now we use Filter => Blur => Radial Blur. Try to move the center of the radial blur over the face (in my case Padmé's).
- Now we need the eraser tool, set to round 50 (very soft!). Make sure you just erase a tiny part of the face (to make your main character even more focused).
- Create new adjustment layer on top, selective color. Set red to -36 | +26 | 0 | +29. Set yellow to +73 | +23 | -28 | +19. Set layer to 55% or more (depends on what you prefer).
- Create new adjustment layer on top, hue/saturation. Set saturation to +10 to +20 (depends on what you prefer)
- Create new adjustment layer on top, color balance. Color level -45 | 0 | 0.
- Create new layer on top, filled with #000000 and set it to soft light 34%.
- I used a scratch texture from
tune, but unfortunately they are no longer available. :( You will have to search for new scratch textures over at
texturize. Important is that the texture is VERY dark. Black with white scratches would be perfect.
Set the texture to screen 100% once you found it.
- Done!
