10 Years!

I've created my livejournal account 10 years ago! So, happy birthday, my beloved journal! ♥ ♥ ♥

So much has changed over these 10 years. Livejournal is kind of dead, in a way. There used to be a lot more community activities and I loved it. I loved to discuss new episodes of my favorite tv shows and new movies, post icons and snag amazing icons from others. I loved to read my friends pages and I miss to read about what's going on in their lives. But most of them don't use lj any more and that is making me sad. :(

Especially after what happened to me at Christmas Eve I would love to connect more with my old friends again. But it's like it always was. I want to keep up friendships, part of my friends don't.

But, well - that's live.

I've created a new layout for my livejournals birthday. And I love it. ♥

Meins wurde heuer auch 10 Jahre alt. :) Mir tut's einfach leid, wie tot LJ mittlerweile ist - da kann ich deinen Post einfach nur unterschreiben. Selber mag ich aber auch nichts mehr posten, da ich ja nicht mal weiß, ob noch irgendwer da ist. Hmmm, vielleicht im neuen Jahr? Für Fandom war ist und ist LJ meiner Meinung nach das beste Medium. Tumblr und Co sind so überhaupt nicht mein Ding.

Ich finde es auch total bedauerlich, dass LJ nur noch so wenig genutzt wird. Ich kann mit Tumblr, Facebook und Co. auch so gar nichts anfangen. Ich hab mich in diesem Jahr einfach stark in meine Star Trek Community zurückgezogen, wobei das trotz Forum nicht das selbe ist.

Ich wünschte, es gäbe all diese anderen Social Networks nicht. Die Auswahl ist einfach zu groß. Die Leute haben sich komplett zerstreut. Und bei manchen hat das Fan-Dasein an sich nachgelassen. Für mich wird das irgendwie immer dazu gehören. Aber inzwischen kocht jeder - zumindest fühlt sich das so an - sein eigenes Süppchen.

I miss the way LJ used to be as well - I've probably been on here around 10-12 years now? I deleted my old initial account, so I'm not really sure. I was still in high school though which is a scary thought!

Long gone are the "good" days on LJ where fandom communities were great ways to make new friends, where I used to spend hours making icons and designing LJ layouts in photoshop and then the headaches of coding them... LOL. I miss it in some ways. It was more fun on here back then.

I only have a couple active friends on here now, and a few others that lurk. Ah well. I'm still here for now.
